Acting Chief Executive Officer
Alexander Suski was appointed Group Director of Commercial and Business Development for Ishraq Hospitality Dubai – part of Mohamed and Obaid Al Mulla Group of Companies in December 2020. Alexander has moved into a new role as the new Acting Chief Executive Officer as of June 2021. In his current role, he oversees the hospitality operations and strategic way forward for 8 owned properties under IHG. He is responsible for driving the broader short and long-term hospitality strategies for the portfolio. Alexander brings with him over 18 years of hospitality experience, working with leading hotel groups in Europe and the Middle East. He joined Ishraq after a 4 year tenor from Millennium Hotels and Resorts Middle East and Africa as Associate Vice President Sales and Marketing, overlooking a portfolio of 48 properties as well as over 40 future openings in the region. Before that he held a 5-year tenor from Kempinski Hotels, where he held the role of Area Director of Sales and Marketing Egypt and Bahrain before moving to the UAE as Director of Sales and Marketing at Kempinski Hotel Ajman and Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates. During this time, he was responsible for creating and implementing sales and marketing strategies, driving market share, profit growth and re-positioning the hotels in the market. Prior to this, he gained valuable experience in Europe, working for 2 years with InterContinental Hotels & Resorts (IHG) in Warsaw, 6 years with Sofitel Luxury Hotels (Accor) in Bruges-Ghent-Brussels-Luxemburg-Amsterdam, 2 years with Crowne Plaza (IHG) in Brussels and 2 years with De Dikke Van Dale (Fletcher Hotels) in Holland. In his dual role Suski is also in charge of Business Development, to support the further growth of the Holiday Inn Express brand in the UAE and Oman, as well as further developing Ishraq’s well-recognized Hospitality Advisory Services for investors or hotel owners. His commended leadership skills and an impressive performance record, combined with a thorough understanding of the Middle East & Africa market is instrumental in driving the Group’s ambitious financial growth and expansion plans. A Belgium national, Alexander is fluent in Dutch, English, German and French and holds several industry qualifications.
